Organizing Department: DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY
Brief description of excursion:
The first & fifth semester students of Department of Zoology, Tufanganj Mahavidyalaya visited Gorumara National Park to fulfil their syllabus curriculum on 5th & 6th December, 2022. The team was guided by Prof. Somnath Kundu, Assistant professor of Zoology, Tufanganj Mahavidyalaya. Other teachers included in the team were Mr. Debashis Mitra, Mr. Dibyendu Dey in addition with one non-teaching staff, Mr. Abhijit karmakar.
The aim of such educational visit was to explore the faunal and floral diversity of Gorumara National Park and to assess various parametric and non-parametric instructions within its periphery. The group have seen various wild animals including Bison, Asiatic Elephant, wild Pig, Peacock, Deer etc. The team performed quadrate studies and collected water and soil samples for further processing. Such tours have a significant impact on understanding natural ecosystems as well as different ecological biomes.

Brief description of excursion:
The fifth semester students of Department of Botany, Tufanganj Mahavidyalaya visited Darjeeling hills and its surrounding areas to fulfil their syllabus curriculum from 25/04/2022 to 27/04/2022. The team was guided by Dr. Shibu Barman, Assistant professor of Botany, Tufanganj Mahavidyalaya.
As far as the benefits of such tours, students are not only able to consolidate existing knowledge but also able to expand their horizons. They can gain a deeper understanding of real-life situations and trends. Along with professional skill development, students can get chance to try out the languages they have studied with native speakers. They can build independence and confidence as they explore new places and local customs. Perhaps most important of all, students gain new insights into their own culture, and a more global perspective.
