About College Library

Tufanganj Mahavidyalaya library provides facilities and services necessary for the success of all formal programmes of the institution. It makes available to the student’s books and allied reading materials relevant to the courses offered in the college. It also makes available the books and documents required by faculty members in preparation of their instructional courses and provides supplementary books and other reading materials to help to study and teach at the college.

Objectives

  • To provide resources necessary for research in the field of interest to the college;
  • To help the teacher in keeping abreast of developments in his field;
  • To open the door to the worldwide of books that lie beyond the borders of one’s own field of specialization; 
  • To bring books, students and scholars together under conditions, which encourage reading for pleasure, self-discovery, personal growth and sharpening of intellectual curiosity 
  • Promotes the proper use of the reading materials available in the stack; and
  • Trains the students in making use of the library properly and derives full advantage out of it, integrating the library with the education course.

On working days : 10.30 AM to 5 PM
During examination days : Closed 
During recess : 10.30 AM to 5 PM

Rules & Regulations

  • Users have to mark their presence at the Library User register.
  • Readers are not allowed to carry their personal belongings (bags, personal books, parcel etc.) and any type of eatable items inside the library.
  • All users are requested to keep their mobile phones switched off or in silent mode in the library.
  • Library card is compulsory for getting access to the library. 
  • Books will be issued on presentation of the library card.
  • Books and other materials taken from the stacks should not be re-shelved by the reader. Please call the library staff to avoid misfiling. Remember that a book misplaced is a book lost.
  • Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library material in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he/she will be charged with the full replacement cost of damaged material and may lend to suspension of library account.
  • Students are requested to check the books while borrowing. Any damage found in the books borrowing should be brought to the notice of the staff on duty before issued.
  • Silence is to be maintained.
